The next battlefield for Taiwan's ICT industry Convergence with international standards for vehicle cybersecurity

Internet of Vehicles(IoV) has become an inevitable trend with the technological development in electric vehicles(EV) and autonomous vehicles(AV). The issues surrounding its risks on cyber security has been put under the spotlight, similar to the case with Internet of Things(IoT).The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe(UNECE) has also introduce a new regulation of “Cyber Security Management System(CSMS)”. Under the new regulation, vehicles will need to satisfy the CSMS requirements in order to apply for type approval. Through ISO 21434(Road vehicles – Cybersecurity engineering, a relatively well-developed management system can be established to enable the supply chain to understand each other's roles and responsibilities in the ecology of vehicle operations in order to protect against the increasing risks of information security.
