Fighting Ransomware with Zero-Trust Strategy

Ransomware is the most soaring type of security incident recently. Due to the ecosystem formation of ransomware and double extortion approach, ransomware threat to enterprises is continuously expanding. At the same time, since the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) published the SP 800-207, Zero Trust Architecture document in 2019, zero trust architecture has become the most discussed topic among security industries and enterprises. This session will describe how to take a Zero Trust security strategy to mitigate the threat of ransomware.

Albert Hsieh is experienced in security vendor, service providers and corporations. He has worked as technical support, presales, pentester, community contributor, security trainer, security awareness, security consultant, overseas business development, etc. His journey continues across Japan and Taiwan, from an engineer to a manager, and keeps going. He worked in information security for the largest telecos in Japan and Taiwan respectively, as well as the largest e-commerce corporation in Japan. He get involved in global OWASP community for nearly 10 years. He is also the sole translator of OWASP Top 10 - 2013 Japanese version. He holds valid CISSP certification.
